About
Travel, at the speed of noticing.
komorebi
The sunlight that filters through the leaves of trees — a fleeting moment that can’t be recreated in exactly the same way.
That’s how we think about travel. The most memorable places are rarely the famous ones — they’re the quiet cafés, the hidden streets, the local rituals, the unexpected discoveries that make a city feel personal.
Komorebi Guide is a small studio making guides to exactly those places, for curious travelers who value quality over checklists. Not more options — fewer, better ones. Every recommendation is chosen for a reason we can name, and the reason is always in the guide.
The alternative is the one you know: twenty hours across Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, map reviews and blog lists, most of it pointing at the same ten crowded rooms. We do that work once, properly, so your evenings before the trip are short and your days inside it are good.

How an edition is made
Gather
Hundreds of candidates per city — local voices, small magazines, long walks down internet rabbit holes.
Shortlist
Everything is tested against one question: would we send a friend there, on their one free afternoon?
Write
Every place that survives gets its page — the why, the when, the thing to order. Then it becomes the edition.
